Nanny comes to visit

On our morning walk around the complex before getting Nanny from the airport we found yet another baby turtle and decided to investigate, then set it free. As you can see it was just hatched. We looked for the nest, but couldn't find it..well done mama turtle.

After picking up Nanny, we decided to break up the trip home from the air port with a stop at Gator Land. Welcome to Florida Mom......gators! It was actually  not a bad place to stop and stretch our legs....and most importantly...check out gators.

Oh, and chickens. Those are always a hit!
Gator land wasn't all gators either...Oh no, they had goats, birds, a boardwalk trail though the woods, and best of all ( for Luke at least) where the roaming peacocks. There was even food we could feed them.

Ahh... beater butts, what else could make this day any better. How he missed Nanny beater butts.

We spent a wonderful day at Lettuce Lake State Park with Nanny. This never disappoints when it comes to wild life. We saw gators in their home, lots of turtles, and even more birds. It was a beautiful day to be outside.

Joel tripping and falling while trying to help out some nice looking girls on the beach, very entertaining. We where at Siesta Key checking out the sand sculpture competition. The sculptures where very impressive, however I forgot my camera at the other end of the beach with our stuff, so sorry I have no pictures. I did however get the more important pictures of Luke, and the rest of us.

This is Luke showing off his find of bright red, slimy sea weed.....very cool to play with.

We were lucky enough to catch the beautiful sun set while we where there. It's still really cool to see the sun set into the ocean.

Another great beach, and wonderful day spent there.

I'm not very good at organizing the photos..... these are more of Lettuce Lake. Checking out the spoonbills(birds), showing off tongues, and spying on turtles, and gators sleeping on logs.

Time to show Nanny all our friends at the aquarium.

I love these two pictures of the goliath grouper.

And back to Siesta Key....no, we didn't go twice. Again I am just not good at sorting pictures.

For everyone who asks why I am always taking the pictures and never in them..... these next few pictures where taken by Joel.........

And now you know why.... :) My mom and I took the rest :)

We find the coolest things on the beaches here. This time we (and by we I of course mean Joel) found a horseshoe crab. Its so cool to see them walking around in the water. I know there in Maine, but I've never seen one at the beach there.
